Coming Clean

It’s been two weeks since I’ve reorganized my cosmetics drawers and it really has simplified my life greatly. No longer do I need to guess which products are usable and which ones should be tossed.

Here are some pictures of what I had to toss!

First off, gel-eyeliner: One of the most common questions I’m asked is “My gel-eyeliner is starting to dry up – can I add some water in it to make it work again?” The answer is no, no, NO! Once it starts drying up there is nothing you can do except to toss it. Make sure to keep the product closed so it doesn’t dry out as quickly.

This is what the product should look like.

Do you have a hard time throwing products away?

A New Approach for a New Year!

Well, 2010 came to an end and it is time to freshen up our look.

When I opened up my drawer this morning, I saw jars of gel eyeliner, tubes of mascara and eye shadow palettes piled up – all collecting dust. So, how many out there suffer from this problem? In a moment of absolute clarity, I decided to re-evaluate what I really need.

I get it, we all spend a lot of money on cosmetics, which makes it painful to part with most items. But for the sake of order, not to mention sanity, we must throw out the old and not be afraid to welcome the new.

I’d be a mess without my Bobbi Brown stick foundation, mascara and lip gloss. Now, tell me what items you cannot live without.
